Overview Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) is Nepal’s second international airport, strategically located in Siddharthanagar, Lumbini Province. Officially inaugurated for international operations in May 2022, the airport is named after Lord Gautam Buddha, who was born in nearby Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world.
