Madhesh Province: Nepal’s Cultural Heartland and Gateway to the South

Madhesh Province (मधेश प्रदेश), located in the southernmost part of Nepal, is a vibrant region known for its fertile plains, rich cultural heritage, and strong cross-border trade ties with India. Formerly known as Province No. 2, it was renamed in January 2022 to reflect the identity and aspirations of the people of the Madhesi community.
